Jesus hears the prayer of faith, expressed in words … or in silence. (CCC 2616)
Selected parishes support opportunities to Deaf and Hard of Hearing members in Holy Eucharist, sacraments, prayer, and community.
These parish leaders are dedicated to empowering and supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing faithful by providing full access to their faith especially to the Sacraments.
By incorporating Deaf Catholics into parish life, the entire community is enriched. This inclusion and belonging is aimed to encourage all members of Christ's body to bear fruit and share their gifts.
We support and “encourage [Deaf and Hard of Hearing] to participate in all levels of pastoral ministry…” The Deaf and Hard of Hearing faithful “are not only recipients of the Gospel, but are also called to proclaim it and to be witnesses to its truth.”
